About Cherry Hill Beach

Cherry Hill Beach is a long, wild stretch of sand on the South Shore near Broad Cove. This undeveloped beach offers a raw coastal experience with excellent beachcombing potential. The strong Atlantic surf and sweeping shoreline make it a favorite for long walks and solitude. It's the kind of beach where you can walk for kilometers without seeing another soul. Cherry Hill Beach is part of the Cherry Hill Beach Nature Reserve, a 2 km long barrier beach and dune system between Broad Cove and Voglers Cove that protects a nesting refuge for the endangered piping plover. Visitors should avoid marked nesting areas during the summer breeding season. Cherry Hill is also Nova Scotia's best-known clothing-optional (naturist) beach — visitors should be aware that nude sunbathing and swimming is common, particularly in the more secluded sections of the beach.
