Halifax Music Fest

Halifax Music Fest debuted June 26–27, 2026 as the city's biggest multi-genre summer music festival, landing at the historic Garrison Grounds at the base of Citadel Hill. Produced by Sonic Concerts and Mighty Quinton Concerts, the two-day festival brought eight major national and international acts to Halifax, headlined by The Chicks on Friday and Weezer on Saturday.

Friday June 26 featured The Chicks — the best-selling all-female band in US history with 13 Grammy Awards — alongside country-rap sensation Shaboozey (whose 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' spent 19 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, tying the all-time record), Canadian rock legends Blue Rodeo, and Montreal folk-rock group The Barr Brothers. Saturday June 27 was anchored by Weezer, the iconic rock band behind 'Buddy Holly,' 'Say It Ain't So,' and 'Beverly Hills,' with support from emo pioneers Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional, and Silversun Pickups.

Gates opened at 4:00 PM each day with music starting at 5:30 PM and headliners wrapping by 11:00 PM. The festival was rain or shine and operated as a smoke-free and vape-free event under Parks Canada regulations. Four ticket tiers were available — General Admission ($155–$199), Bleacher ($177–$220), Premium ($329–$383), and Accessible — all sold via Tixr with single-day tickets only. A portion of every ticket supported Music Nova Scotia. With free outdoor concerts, Halifax transformed into one giant music venue all summer long.
