Quick Facts
About Lobster Bash
Lobster Bash was a three-day summer festival in Digby, Nova Scotia, celebrating the region's world-famous lobster industry with food, competitions, live music, and family-friendly fun. In its 14th year (since 2013), the festival drew thousands of visitors to the Digby waterfront for a true East Coast party by the sea. The 2026 edition ran July 3β5.
The weekend was packed with signature events: the Big Rig Parade rolling through downtown Digby, a Parade of Lights featuring illuminated boats in the harbour, and a spectacular fireworks display over the water. Competitive events included lobster banding, lobster trap stacking, the Memorial Crate Run, fish-tub derby, rope coiling and splicing, washer toss, and the ever-popular survival suit challenge β testing who could stay afloat longest in a bulky survival suit.
For families, there was the Mega-Foam Extravaganza, kids' games, crafts, photo booths, and monster truck rides. The Show & Shine Car Showcase featured Mike Hall from the hit TV show Rust Valley Restorers. Live music filled the air throughout the weekend, and pro wrestling added an extra layer of entertainment. And of course, the food β lobster rolls, steamed lobster, lobster chowder, and fresh local seafood from vendors lining the waterfront.
Lobster Bash took place at the Digby waterfront, with events spread across the downtown area. Digby sits at the western edge of the Bay of Fundy, approximately 2.5 hours from Halifax via Highway 101. The town's scenic harbour setting and famous scallop fishing fleet provided a picturesque backdrop. For those looking to extend their stay, Digby Pines Golf Resort & Spa and several waterfront inns offered summer packages. The region is also one of the best places on Earth to see humpback, fin, and minke whales in the Bay of Fundy.
