Organized by Colaisde na Gàidhlig (The Gaelic College) in St. Ann's, this nine-day festival is the island's premier celebration of Gaelic culture, bringing the warmth and intimacy of the traditional kitchen céilidh to venues across Cape Breton — from cozy pub lounges and community halls to historic stages and waterfront amphitheatres. Whether you're a lifelong devotee of Cape Breton fiddle music or a first-time visitor curious about the island's vibrant cultural heritage, KitchenFest! offers an authentic, immersive experience that captures the very soul of Cape Breton's musical tradition. With concerts, céilidhs, pub nights, square dances, milling frolics, and cultural demonstrations happening daily from morning until late night, it was the perfect summer kick-off for music lovers and cultural explorers alike. The 2026 edition is complete, but KitchenFest! returns each summer — mark late June on your calendar, or plan a visit to Baddeck and the Cabot Trail around the festival's usual window.

2026 Edition Dates & Times
The 2026 edition ran June 26 – July 4 (pre-festival tune-up on June 24). Events ran from 10:00 AM to late night, with most evening concerts 7:30–9:30 PM and pub nights continuing until 11:00 PM+. Dates for the next edition are announced each spring on KitchenFest.ca.

Ticket Prices

  • Céilidhs and Pub Nights: $10–15 (cash, pay at door)
  • Concerts: $15–35
  • Cultural Demonstrations: Free with Gaelic College admission ($10/$8/$25 family)
  • The Big Bash: $35 + fees
  • Square Dances: $15

Getting Around
A car is essential. Shuttle service available for the Big Bash (Baddeck to Gaelic College, 7:30 PM – 1:30 AM). Designated driver recommended for evening events.

Parking
Free parking at all major venues including the Gaelic College, community halls, and pub locations.
