The Tasting Experience
The tasting room pours the full range: rums, whisky, vodka, and the brewery's craft beer, plus coffees, maple syrup and other locally made products from the on-site store. The standout for whisky drinkers is GLYNNEVAN 12 Year Old 100% Rye, which won Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and was featured in Carlo DeVito's 2021 book "The Spirit of Rye." FORTRESS Rum is the house flagship — a smooth, slightly sweet rum aged at Louisbourg that has become the default premium rum on Nova Scotia shelves. Staff happily walk visitors through the tasting menu, and the waterfront location means you can sip while watching the boats in Guysborough Harbour.
Tours of the Distillery & Brewhouse
Guided tours take visitors behind the stills and fermenters to see how the spirits and beer are made, from grain to bottle.
