Admiral Cove Park is a 29-hectare wilderness pocket on the shore of Bedford Basin in Bedford, about 15 minutes from downtown Halifax. Its main draw is a roughly 2-kilometre loop trail that climbs through mature forest to a cliff-edge lookoff over the Basin and Halifax Harbour — among the clearest views in the metro area. The park has no washrooms, no maintained paths, and no interpretive signage; it is raw, unserviced terrain that suits experienced hikers more than casual strollers.

⚠️ Important Access Update (June 2026): The eastern loop trail connecting Admiral Cove Park to CFAD Bedford is now permanently off-limits to the public. The Department of National Defence (DND) is installing No Trespassing signage at the Canadian Forces Ammunition Depot (CFAD) Bedford, as the trail encroaches on depot property. Two other access points to the park remain open and unaffected. Visitors are advised to respect the posted signage and use the alternative trail routes. For hikers seeking alternative options in the Halifax area, Point Pleasant Park, Sir Sandford Fleming Park, and the McIntosh Run Trail all offer excellent alternatives.
