Harvest Moon Music Festival

The Harvest Moon Music Festival lights up downtown Bridgewater for its fifth year from September 17 to 19, 2026, expanding to three nights of free live music at Pijinuiskaq Park on the LaHave River. Presented by the Town of Bridgewater and Arby's Bridgewater, the festival has become the signature event on the South Shore's fall calendar — a riverfront celebration built around local and regional performers that draws crowds from across Lunenburg County and beyond. This year's edition also marks the park's 10th summer as a downtown gathering place.

The festival's three evenings run Thursday, September 17 through Saturday, September 19, 2026 — an expansion from the two-night format of previous editions — with every performance free and all ages. The park's concrete amphitheatre-style seating fills early, so locals bring lawn chairs to set up along the wharf — and boaters routinely drift in to anchor offshore and listen from the water. The 2026 musical lineup was still being finalized through the summer, with organizers confirming acts closer to the event; the 2025 edition featured The Lamplighters, Cut, Split & Delivered, Steven Dicks, Danny Pink, and Christina Martin, headlined by JUNO Award-winning musician and Order of Nova Scotia member Joel Plaskett.

Every performance is free and all ages. The festival is designed to get people into downtown Bridgewater — restaurants and cafés along King Street stay busy through the weekend, and the celebration dovetails with the Pijinuiskaq Paddle Fest (September 19–20), which brings a colourful parade of kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards to the same stretch of river.
