Peggy's Cove Area Festival of the Arts

The Peggy's Cove Area Festival of the Arts was a two-weekend celebration of visual arts, craft, and creativity set against the dramatic granite shoreline and lighthouse of one of the world's most photographed places. The festival brought together painters, sculptors, photographers, fibre artists, and craftspeople from across Nova Scotia for open studios, gallery tours, and outdoor art events.

The 2026 festival featured two art-filled weekends. The first (July 10-12) was Paint Peggy's Cove, a three-day plein air painting event with over 40 local and international artists in the village. The second weekend (July 17-19) was the Studio Tour, featuring over 70 studio artists, galleries, and art groups who welcomed visitors into their workspaces for a unique behind-the-scenes experience.

The stunning coastal scenery from Indian Harbour to Peggy's Cove has inspired artists for generations, and the festival celebrated this creative legacy. The iconic Peggy's Cove lighthouse and viewing deck provided a perfect anchor point, while the area's walking trails, seafood restaurants, and artisan shops make it a full-day cultural and scenic experience.
